Diving in…to the Whale Season in Chocó

During the months of July to the beginning of October, Humpback Whales migrate from the Antarctic to the Pacific Coast of Colombia, concentrating in the Chocó region.  During those months, the ocean becomes a whale’s paradise, as they jump, sing, show off their pectoral fins and tails, and teach their young calves.

A special part of this Expedition is the opportunity to snorkel with the pods while being enraptured by the underwater background music as their beautiful songs travel effortlessly through the watery depths.

When you are not in the water swimming with these magnificent creatures, you can choose to walk through the jungle to secret waterfalls, surf, enjoy a relaxing day at the beach, or simply swing in a hammock at the eco-lodge watching the whales jump from a bird’s eye view. The combination of diverse ecological activities, opportunities to relax, and to dine on delicious, mouth-watering local food, will make your stay so pleasant that you will likely never want to leave!
